MONDAY 19TH DEC. LESSON

Helloooo....
Yesterday we worked with some typical English recipes and learn some vocabulary. I'll send you the recipes by email so you can cook any of them for THURSDAY'S CHRISTMAS PARTY!!!!

Then, we did SPEAKING PRACTICE using the exam monologues and pictures. If you want to improve your speaking a good way is to record yourselves as if you were in the exam (don't prepare the text in advance and then read it, just prepare vocabulary and structures and talk as if you were doing the exam!!!).

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!! LISTENING PRACTICE:
Go to this webpage: http://www.mansioningles.com/listening00.htm and try to do the following listening exercises (Intermediate Level): Checking into a hotel, Ruth's job, the Security announcement, Janet on New York and Salzburg nightlife..... Some of the instructions are in Spanish but just ignore them.  You've got the exercise, the correction and the transcript also.

See you on WEDNESDAY 21ST. This will be the last lesson until the 9th JANUARY!!!!!!

KEREN ANN- END OF MAY

Just to relax after the exam.....listen to this song and check the pronunciation of the words in red below. In English it is essential to pronounce the final consonants. Pay also attention to the pronunciation of 'word' ;o))
Have a nice weekend!!!!

Close your eyes and roll a dice
Under the board there's a compromise
If after all we only lived  twice
Which lies the run road to paradise

Don't say a word
, here comes the break of the day
And wide clouds
of sand raised by the wind of the end of May

Close your eyes and make a bet

Face to the glare of the sunset

This is about as far as we get

You haven't seen me disguised yet

Don't say a word, here comes the break of the day
And wide clouds of sand raised by the wind of the end of May

Close your eyes and make a wish

Under the stone there's a
stonefish
Hold your breath
then roll the dice
It might lead the run road to paradise

Don't say a word, here comes the break of the day
And wide clouds of sand raised by the wind of the end...

MY FAIR LADY

I don't know if you have seen this film but it's really fatastic!!!! It's about a professor who tries to teach a girl that speaks Cockney (a dialect) how to talk properly with very good British accent. It's really worth it!!!

In Spanish we say: 'La lluvia en Sevilla es pura maravilla'. If you want to know how would you say that in English....click HERE

By the way, the adjective FAIR here means BEAUTIFUL= 'Mi bella dama'
